Tolga is an expert commercial problem solver in the electromobility sector, with over 15 years of experience in vehicle electrification, commercial strategy, and business development. As the Head of Partnerships at Estes, a North American EV technology provider specializing in third-generation battery systems for commercial vehicles, Tolga plays a pivotal role in advancing the company’s mission to deliver innovative, energy-efficient vehicle electrification solutions.

Before joining Estes, Tolga held key leadership roles at Proterra, Inc and Cummins Inc., where he drove significant advancements in EV technologies and developed strategic partnerships. As Director of Business Development at Proterra, Tolga led strategic partnerships with 14 major OEMs and critical suppliers, driving revenue growth from zero to hundreds of millions of dollars over his four-year tenure. He secured high-value contracts with leading domestic and international commercial vehicle OEMs. His initiatives contributed to a substantial sales backlog, positioning Proterra for long-term growth and industry leadership.

At Cummins, Tolga spearheaded business development across multiple product categories and developed go-to-market strategies for new product introductions. He also co-authored key corporate strategies that enhanced cross-functional collaboration and supported growth in global markets.

Now at Estes, Tolga focuses on managing all key relationships with customers, suppliers, strategic partners, and investors. He plays a crucial role in shaping the company’s growth by establishing partnerships that drive innovation and market expansion. Additionally, Tolga leads the financial planning efforts to ensure that the company’s objectives are aligned with business goals and market opportunities. His leadership has been instrumental in the formation and early development of Estes, positioning it for long-term success in the EV and clean energy sectors.

Beyond his professional work, Tolga’s passion for nature fuels his dedication to the clean energy sector. His favorite place on earth is Lake Tahoe, where he finds inspiration in the natural beauty that drives his mission to decarbonize the planet. He is committed to ensuring that future generations can experience the natural wonders he holds dear. When not at work, Tolga enjoys traveling with his wife, Simay, and their 3-year-old son Kuzey, as they explore new places and embrace the simple joys of life.
