Estes has been quietly innovating across all aspects of this incredible material: flame retardant alloys, an automotive scale forming process, and a multi-layer coating. Together, Estes is building a domestic manufacturing capability for large format magnesium components - built in the USA.
From Levius™ to Giga-Thixomolding
Estes' patent-pending Levius™ process unites alloying, forming, and coating in a single continuous production line, producing flame-retardant, thin-walled, corrosion-resistant magnesium components for lightweight power systems in defense, space, aerial, marine, and commercial applications.
Giga-Thixomolding forms 30kg of MgCarbonit™ in a single shot at a rate of one part-per-minute.

Estes is a US-based advanced battery development and manufacturing company specializing in magnesium-alloy battery platforms for commercial applications – rail, marine, on and off highway. Founded in April 2024 by engineers who built EV battery factories and electrified vehicles across multiple sectors, Estes developed a thermo-structural battery architecture that delivers disruptive energy density of 225 Wh/kg using US-sourced lithium-ion battery cells that are commercially available today.
